The past two weeks in South Lake Tahoe has been a dream. It was so much fun hanging with Cadence, Will, and Eli — besides being amazing hosts, they are incredible people and their presence in Tahoe echos that. I felt like South Lake royalty as they showed me their slice of paradise. We’ve all been going through pictures from Yosemite and other adventures, so that’s still to come, but wanted to check in. I’m giving up on posting things in chronological order 😅

I was here last April when they got the news they got the house they’d been trying to rent — I get why they were so hyped. It’s walking distance from incredible views, hikes, bouldering, climbing, and backcountry snowboarding. Plus a hot tub, spa room, and panoramic views, like what??

As promised, we went to Yosemite (incredible) and then saw some dubstep the first week/weekend there. This was followed by mostly quality chill time — I enjoyed being a passenger while Cadence showed me the sights. For one last treat, I went with Eli and Will to see the local Tahoe hockey game (Cadence was off shooting pictures for her friends aerial dance showcase, a 2 night show). Will is the AV Director for games at the event center, and Eli had a media pass to take pictures, so I came with and…assisted?🤠 🫠

Beyond the 3 of them running shit with media, they are friends with so many artists and cool people in town, I felt like a celebrity — always getting the behind the scenes experience.
While I’m sad to be leaving such good company, I’m super stoked on FINALLY being able to climb. I’m headed to near Bishop, California — in the Eastern Sierra’s, south of (South) Lake Tahoe. With several days of sunny, 50 degree days, I’m going to camp in the Inyo National Forest. After a week of climbing and sleeping outside, my plan is to head to Carlsbad (south of L.A.) where my friend Max lives.
While not having planned on going to California, it’s shaping up to be a pretty incredible leg of the trip. I’m hoping to write a longer post reflecting on the first month on the road, plus a few posts with pictures and stories from adventuring in Yosemite. Otherwise, I’m looking forward to a week in the wilderness!
